AlloyDB Express Clusters & Observability Changes

A significant update introduces support for AlloyDB Express clusters. You can now enable this feature by setting the new expressConfig property on the Cluster resource, which includes an enabled boolean field within the new ExpressConfig schema.

Breaking Change Alert: Many properties related to observability and query insights have been made read-only. Specifically, the observabilityInstanceInfo and queryInsightsInfo properties within the Instance schema, along with all their sub-properties in the ObservabilityInstanceInfo and QueryInsightsInstanceInfo schemas, are now output-only. If your existing code attempts to set these fields during instance creation or updates, it will now fail. You must update your API calls to remove any configuration of these fields.

Additionally, the trackActiveQueryPlan property within the ObservabilityInstanceInfo schema is now officially deprecated. Developers should migrate to using trackActiveQueries instead.
